I used this online food ordering trick and it changed me beyond belief!!

I came to Bangalore in Nov’21 and it was a high point for me to take care of myself on various levels. The easiest and most straightforward one seemed to be at the physical level. Now I wasn’t really a fat fuck but not a healthy duck either. This was mostly because of my bad habit of ordering every few days. Coming to Bangalore didn’t help it either since the number of restaurants and offers increased a lot compared to my hometown. On top of that the evil food delivery companies(they’ll burn in purgatory) who give you a discount only if you order above 300, like every other stupid grass in the garden, I used to order tons of things to get the 40% off up to ₹80.
Le chicken biryani with chicken popcorn and a coke/ Aloo paratha+Cheese Keema Paratha+ coke/ Moroccan spice Pasta+Pepper Barbecue Chicken Pizza + Tomato Pasta and so on. You get the point right!! Every one of us does this or did it at some point in life.

Doesn’t matter how much you try to control the cravings it just overcomes you and the next thing you know you just ordered a ton of junk again.

One day while thinking I found a sort of solution to this. Not a complete solution but at least to curb it a bit.

Now whenever I wanted to order something, I went ahead. Let's see, Cheesy Chicken Meatballs from 4.2 rated restaurant. This must be sooo good. Let's add Chicken Keema Paratha and coke as well. Finally, after adding the junk and applying the coupons,the amount came out to be ₹395.
Cool, now I close the app and go to the groceries ordering app(Instamart, BlinkIt, Dunzo etc). Take half of whatever the amount is. Here it's 197.5~₹198.
Let's order fruits and vegetables for 198.
This watermelon is looking lush red. The banana looks good as well. This apple is costly damn but let's go have to make it to 198 anyways. DONE!! Now I order the groceries. And then if I still crave the junk I order it as well.

ONE OF THESE 2 THINGS HAPPENED :
1. I ate all the fruits before they rot and I felt good and fulfilled after eating them and developed the craving to order more.
2. They spoil or at least some of them do and I become more conscious next time to eat them before they reach that state.

Anyhow the result was I started eating more fruits, felt full and fulfilled so I started to order less junk and more fruits/veggies. This became a force feedback loop and made me take more raw food than processed junk. Eventually, this made my eating habits better. You know how rich become richer and poor become poorer, similar happened to me the more healthy I was eating the more healthy I wanted to eat, the more healthy habits I wanted to develop. Won’t go into all that or the article will go way beyond the scope. But this is what started it.

And now you know it as well. Just one small trick, When ordering food for ₹X, order fruits/veggies for ₹X/2 first. This will change your life in ways you can’t even imagine.
